Vanderwee Chocolates was established in 1995 in Sydney by Belgians Hendrik and Hilde Vanderwee Rosseel who chose to specialize in high end artisan made chocolates handcrafted in Belgium. No mass production, no preservatives, no artificial colouring agents, no compromises!
Most people have heard or read about the health benefits of chocolate.
At the same time, the vast majority of Australians do not make the distinction between chocolate and confectionery. Confectionery is indeed not healthy at all and while the European Union, over 10 years ago has set in law what the requirements are for a product to be labeled chocolate (See article The secrets Australian chocolate lovers should know), these standards are not yet in place in Australia.
Vanderwee is one of the few Australian chocolate company that specializes in real quality chocolate: high in cocoa solids, low on sugar, 95% fat free, 100% palm oil free. Every chocolate going through our hands is made towards the high standards demanded by the EU law.
To maintain the freshness and quality, Vanderwee imports their chocolates direct by express air, from Belgium. This makes it Sydney’s unique place where health conscious chocolate lovers go for their chocolate fix.
Over the years, Vanderwee have developed a bond with their customers, going back from their early Glasshouse and Skygarden years. Their following have been spreading the word, since they started in 1995. Let’s blame it on the chocolate!
